Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors over a geographic area throughout Queensland and New South Wales and employing more than 2000 people.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology currently has an opportunity for a 12 month temporary part-time Laboratory Assistant (maternity leave cover) within the Molecular Pathology Department of the Bowen Hills Laboratory.
The successful candidate will be available to work three weekdays and also occasional Saturday shifts when suitably trained.
Shifts are 7.5 hours duration and currently range across the time frame 6am to 6pm. Weekday shift start times within those working hours may vary from 6am through 10am. Saturday rostering would normally be 10am-6pm, except when covering leave where it would revert to 6am-2pm. Participation in public holiday rosters as required is also an expectation of the role.
After training has been provided, your key duties will include:
Suitable applicants will be enthusiastic, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a busy and motivated team. Excellent organisational skills are also essential, as is the ability to effectively manage your time and problem solve.
A high level of commitment to laboratory turnaround times, customer service, accuracy of processing and laboratory goals is required.
