Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
About the Opportunities
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking multiple Senior Medical Typists to join their Bowen Hills Histopathology Department, as part of a full-time maternity contract, or on a permanent part-time basis.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Medical Typist will be typing medical reports. Some key duties will be to:
- Generate medical reports;
- Uphold quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures;
- Comply with OH&S policies and programs;
- Satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers;
- Participate in in-service training and train other staff as required; and
- Perform special duties as required to contribute to the implementation of the strategic plan and effective functioning of the organisation as a whole.
The successful applicants will bring an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to the working environment and have a good working knowledge of medical terminology. Highly-developed communication skills are essential, and a typing speed of 80 words per minute is minimum entry level. Any experience in histological office procedures will also be highly regarded.
Histopathology operates as a 24 hour laboratory. The successful applicant for this position must be available to work shifts as required during these hours. Please note Sullivan Nicolaides is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance for all staff.
