Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors over a geographic area throughout Queensland and New South Wales and employing more than 2000 people.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is currently inviting applications for a Scientist position in the Centre Bench Department of their Bowen Hills laboratory.
The role will suit a challenge driven scientist who is looking for a change from the 24hr or overnight rotational roster, while still being able to utilise their clinical and scientific knowledge.
The successful applicant will be required to use their clinical knowledge to investigate and resolve recollections, amended reports, patient misidentifications and missing specimens. The role includes facilitating the collection, transport and testing of precious samples and specimens for testing referred to other laboratories.
This is a high level troubleshooting role that requires critical thinking and detailed problem solving and includes liaising with collection and laboratory staff, pathologists, referring doctors and referral laboratories.
Rostered hours are 06:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday. Participation in the Saturday and public holiday roster is required.
To be successful in this role you will hold a university degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent, with a minimum 2 years of scientific pathology lab experience, preferably as a multi-disciplinary scientist.
